Dear Professional
Colleague:
The New England Chapters of APICS (Association for
Operations Management), are pleased to announce that Seminar
1, the annual Educational Conference and Solutions Providing
Exposition will be held from April 23 – 25, 2007, at the
Marriott Hotel in beautiful and historic Windsor, CT. (marking
the 29th consecutive year).
We
all recognize the benefits and value of leading edge technology,
education, training, networking, forming alliances, and most
importantly, to prepare for the changes that will touch your
personal and professional lives. Today’s competitive advantage
truly belongs to those who can meet the challenges of the
world’s dynamic marketplace - Leadership through Life Long
Learning, our theme for 2007.
Our Northeast region has over 5000 members and customers,
including representatives from many disciplines within
manufacturing, distribution, and service industries, including
education. As a result of the Region’s size, unique demographics
and organizational profiles, Seminar 1 attracts companies with
diverse educational needs and operational requirements.
Over the years, I have had the great pleasure to provide past
attendees of the Conference with a personal invitation to
experience our Conference. Each year, it becomes more difficult
to describe the improvements in the program – but I can again
confirm that the 2007 committee has done it again. We have
developed a very powerful educational conference and now offer a
lean certificate program.
As a returning attendee of Seminar 1 - I am extremely proud to
provide you with the following program highlights:
Exposition Hall
– Plan to enhance your Seminar 1 experience by visiting with the
many Solution and Service Providers that will be available in
the Exposition Hall on Monday and Tuesday. This year offers a
fabulous blend of former Exhibitors and a host of new Solution
Providers. Also, be sure to check in with the “Friends of
Seminar 1” – you never know which booth, table top or
demonstration might hold the key to a great prize or more.
Regional / National
Speakers -
Experience what thousands of attendees have experienced in the
past – the knowledge provided by two dozen industry experts via
the educational sessions and workshops. Our conference features
three newly elected members of the Seminar 1 “Speaker Hall of
Fame” and a great combination speaker; all providing an
educational experience to the attendee through case study,
hands-on participation and interactivity.

Harvey McChesney, III, CPIM. Harvey left us for a year to
pursue his passion for sailing but is back to present his two
part session entitled
My Learning Style Is Affecting My Career.
A walk through our Exposition Hall should prove to be another
value-added opportunity for each attendee. From software
installers to hardware suppliers to transportation managers to
packaging providers to the various offerings of our speakers and
volunteers – we have tried to surround you with new Solutions
Providers. Lisa Anderson, CSCP visits us from California
