Our Chapter offers review courses in all disciplines required to obtain the two APICS National Certifications (CPIM and CSCP). Our 2007-2008 Course Schedule is below. The Chapter also sponsors two seminars or workshops each year featuring nationally known presenters (at a fraction of the cost the public pays for similar classes). Monthly Chapter Professional Development Meetings also provide a great learning experience through the information and inspiration provided by nationally known speakers who are invited to give presentations to the group each month.

As you may know, APICS’ CBT provider, Promissor, was acquired in 2006 by Pearson VUE, a larger CBT provider. Although there was a good deal of discussion and planning taking place behind the scenes, there has been no real impact to APICS’ exams or relationship with Promissor since the acquisition.

Since the sale, Promissor has been using the tagline “Promissor, A Pearson VUE Company.” As of January 1, 2008, however, Promissor officially changed its name to “Pearson VUE.”

When you enter the former Promissor registration web site URL, www.promissor.com, or access the registration Web site via the link on the APICS Web site, you will be directed automatically to a Pearson VUE registration Web site. Other than the name of the company and the appearance of the registration web site, there are no significant changes to share with customers. APICS will continue to work with the former Promissor staff, use the same customer service and registration telephone numbers, and send correspondence to the same mailing address. The only significant change to report at this time is the name change.

APICS will continue working with Pearson VUE to transition the APICS exam programs to the Pearson VUE testing platform. An important benefit of the transition will be APICS customers’ access to a larger CBT center network. For example, Pearson VUE currently operates over 4,600 test centers in 162 countries. Current plans call for the platform transition to take place in late 2008.
