  Presenter:  Michael Sarno Executive Vice President
                       of North America Operations, Nice-Pak Product, Inc.

 

Biography:  Michael Sarno is Executive Vice President, North America Operations for Nice-Pak Products, Inc., a worldwide leader in pre-moistened wipes providing the highest quality, cost competitive, innovative wet wipe products to the consumer, healthcare, foodservice and industrial markets. Nice-Pak manufactures store brand infection control wipe products such as hard surface sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizing wipes, baby wipes and anti-bacterial towelettes. Michael is currently responsible for all operations, including the 3 domestic plants (manufacturing, packaging, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, etc.), contract manufacturers and packagers, along with the corporate operations support groups including, purchasing, transportation, graphics, creative services and capacity planning. Previous to Nice-Pak, Michael had been with Roche Pharmaceuticals for 10 years, with his most recent position being the Director, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, in Nutley, NJ. Michael was responsible for the second largest plant in the Roche world, exceeding $2 billion per year in sales, manufacturing HIV, Transplant and Oncology drugs for both domestic and global markets.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, a Master of Science in Operations
Management, and is near completion with his Ph.D. in Operations Research at New Jersey Institute of Technology. His
MS research project was the identification and evaluation of non-value added processes in a manufacturing
environment. His Ph.D. studies are focused in the area of supply chain optimization, via non-linear programming
models.
